Duck eggs >> Chicken eggs

Reasons:

- Duck eggs are 50-100% larger than average chicken eggs

- Duck eggs are more nutrient dense (higher in vitamin and mineral content)

- They’re creamier and richer (better for baking pastries)

- Higher yolk:white ratio which means they contain more fat

- Contain more protein

- Stay fresh for longer

On all counts, duck eggs are a superior egg to chicken eggs

That said, ducks do require more space. Our ducks are forest foragers and have a super varied diet of bugs, slugs, worms, and greens we grow for them on our land

Our family (2 adults, 1 baby) eats ducks eggs for breakfast every morning. Two per adult, one per baby

Simple to prepare in a variety of ways, dense form of nutrients and energy for the day, and even at $2 per egg, $10 per breakfast, are very affordable
