Americans don't want to know. The whistle blowers have been largely ignored. Just ask Edward Snowden and Julian Assange. People didn't give a crap about the tyranny of the US government. I think you're probably right; there will be no march on Washington until there is an offensive act on US soil. Then the politicians will play the victim of an "unprovoked" attack. Funding will flow and the printing press will be overheating.

It's almost another manifest destiny.
