Tru dat…Ed Reed at the U was a beast… both he and mathieu are listed on ESPN’s top 25 players of the 21st century but Mathieu’s stats are based on a 2 year career compared to Reed’s 4 years…also Mathieu was a fumble causing and recovering beast (this was lacking in Reed’s incredible ncaa career)… both incredible players but imo Mathieu was the more versatile and explosive ncaa player… Ed Reed was bigger and translated better to nfl game although Mathieu despite numerous injuries (didn’t have the prototypical nfl body size) has been pretty solid

Matthieu was a corner I think so he played closer to the line of scrimmage. I think if you listened to the way coaches would talk about Reed, you’d see that it was more than just stats for them. At least at the pro level. Reed was the leader on defense and would pick the plays and make adjustments on the field. His greatness was unfairly overshadowed by Ray Lewis.
Tru that…that ravens’ defense, the 1985 bears defense and the Miami defense from the u defeated season were special
…I’m the opposite of u tho I haven’t followed the nfl closely since ~2016…the officiating has just gotten unbearable🤷🏽♂️
Ed Reed is the goat on defense

Welp…ur jus gonna have to decide whether ur gonna trust me or lil billy belichick😂
Ul get no argument from me on how great an nfl db he is but I’ll stack the honey badgers freshman and sophomore (his only 2 years) against anybody in ncaa history…and that ain’t a slight to the great Ed Reed…I’ll stack his entire career up against anybody’s
