That's a very well written essay🙏🏻. I read something recently by Penrose and Hameroff, about the nature of conscious. It kind of blew my mind🤯 and is the most accurate assimilation that ive come across as to my (Limited) understanding. Orch-OR.
I did find it to be similar to my thoughts. Their interpretation of quantum mechanics that they suggest, ie when a quantum system in a microtubule (acting as a quantum computer) reaches a specific threshold of gravity then triggers its collapse, an event that they say correlates with conscious experience. Well that's just doesn't work for me. I think it's more likely that thoughts creating observations, create a state of quantum nothingness (zero energy required to store) and this volume of nothingness becomes consciousness of the whole.
What blows my mind is walking through a universe which could be patched with such similar quantum clouds. One may see a ghost or have walked into a quantum cloud from the past, which could have been hours/days/years old or what ever else could be imagined. What if a tree or a dog or everything else creates such clouds.
Mind blowing, but could explain lots of the things we don't understand but people seem to consciously experience.
