Homeschooling your kids is a good way to fix the mal-education. It causes you to relook at everything you learned as a kid and frequently you learn that you were lied to, or at least misled.

When I was in school I had multiple teachers repeat "the white man killed off the buffalo" so many times that I believed they were extinct. I later went on vacation in Colorado and was riding down I-70 where there is a huge buffalo ranch. I saw buffalo as far as the eye could see. I thought it was a miracle. Now that I live out west, I know of several buffalo ranches and can buy ground buffalo in my regular grocery store, including sometimes in Walmart.

I'm betting most of my teachers had never seen a buffalo but had been taught the same phrase and probably thought buffalo were extinct. It is amazing how people are taught a phrase as fact even though it is entirely misleading and that leads people to believing lies.

Homeschooling has allowed me to relearn what is the truth and unlearn the lies I was taught and make sure my kids are never taught those same lies. Homeschooling is not only good for your kids. It is good for you.
