Any idea on a one-word short and non-negated) version for ânon-custodialâ?

Not short, but maybe: autonomous
Hm, also doesnât fit perfectly, Iâd say.
ChatGPT consultation brought up self-controlled, self-managed, self-directed.
After asking it to come up with a term without the âselfâ prefix, it spit out âdecentralizedâ
Grr!
Maybe we should make up and brand a new term for the concept of non-custodianship
I donât like the negation in the term.
Is self-custodial a word?
It is, but I was wondering if any term exists, that doesn't need the "self" prefix.
ChatGPT came up with all kinds of "self-" ideas.
What's wrong with the self- prefix, may I ask?
First of all, I like âcleanâ dichotomies, which leads me to custodial & non-custodial, custodial & self-custodial doesnât fulfill this as nicely.
The issue with custodial & non-custodial is that the favored option (non-custodial) is the negated form. Any negation carries a subtle negative connotation with it. Doesnât matter for people who understood the concept, but for absolute beginners, such subtle nuances in language can make the difference on which option theyâre leaning towards.
So, I would love to have a short, one-word, that describes the concept of self-custody, which we can then negate and we have the custodied option.
After some consideration, I think such term doesnât actually exist. So, we either come up with a completely new word or .. we just stick with the current terms

And the more we all focus on daily adoption and real use cases beyond speculation: shifts in language will come out of necessity. So for now we have these terms but overtime I think youâll continue to see a shiftđ¤
