What are the best ways to use Zaps to encourage Nostr growth, engagement & conversations?

Welcoming new people when they post an introduction or acknowledging value for value
Typically new people won't have lightning addresses setup straight away.
Follow hashtags to find the npubs producing good content.
Pre-define (and keep to yourself) the definition of a successful note.
E.g.
1 booked private consultation
5 new followers
10 reposts
15 high quality comments
If the note is successful, disclose that you have zapped
x sats to each new follower
y sats for every repost
z sats for every high quality comment
If the note is unsuccessful, no disclosure but you keep the sats. (Sats are precious if this Bitcoin thing keeps working out.)
Rinse, adjust and repeat as required.
This way, your future notes will carry gravitas. More signal, less noise.
First of all I need to practice what I preach. I know I like it when I get zapped and I have enjoyed zapping others from a now deleted account. So I assume zapping what you find enjoyable is the way to go.
I zap things I feel were informative and I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Reposts get a heart. Value gets zaps.
Problem is, when first joining and holding strictly this view, I zap more than I get zapped while I build a following. 😂
I personally prefer zapping larger amounts but I'm more picky about the content. I hope it'll encourage higher quality and less noise.
Stop zapping MEMES.
I usually zap all the people that take the time to respond or have a conversation with me. And zap a post before I like it.
