Here's a super newbie issue I still am unclear on: are everyone's reaction/reply counts anywhere near accurate on Damus? Most posts show nothing as I scroll, or maybe a couple, but when I react I'll then click to see who else and the count has skyrocketed. I even paid for nostr wine relay thinking that would do something jic, but no noticeable change.
Related, primal straight up shows fewer counts overall, the few times I've compared, and I think relay lists are identical or at most one off.
I'm not an expert with Damus, but counts of anything can be variable with any Nostr app. It relates to how info is pulled from relays. Sometimes it takes longer to receive than to display, and the app can only display what it actually has.
I know sometimes I'll be browsing a ⭕ thread with amethyst then boom! A whole bunch of new notes come in and I lose my place 😂
Ah alright. Can be useful to see what's "hot" or has a high reply count, suggesting clicking through might be worth it for some discussion. That's all. Used to bother me way more, now I hardly notice but it is odd that nobody talks about it. Makes me rhink it's just me
I think this will be sorted in Damus by the work will is doing with nostrdb. Should get better soon™

#asknostr is good for questions like this too. A lot of people watch it I think, stuff gets answered, not right away, but eventually 🤝
In my experience, damus is accurate. Primal sucks with stats like that though. Nostur is about just as accurate as damus. I haven’t used amethyst so can’t say anything about them.
Primal is weird. Almost seems deliberate, maybe not cross pollinating as much or something. Meh, Damus master race
I think it has something to do with the caching relay. They’re not using nostr relays the way other clients use it.
Yeah learned about that a bit ago, though don't understand too well. Also have heard most grumbling about primal around here, eg follow suggestions
I didn't use iOS personally, but Damus & Nostur seem to be the consensus picks 🤙

Nostur is new, but has a lot of cool features. Some stuff I'd like to see in Amethyst actually 😂 the nice things about Nostr is you can just sign in and test it, everything will be there automatically. Doesn't hurt to try.
It is lol there are probably more people on yakihonne than nostur at this point
Primal does their own thing, using a caching server and not the actual relays. It always seems a bit screwy for me on Android too.
