I haven’t been convinced that running a Bitcoin node on Umbrel “makes the network stronger”.

I was persuaded by prominent Bitcoiners that this would be the case. But after about a year of running one, I’m disappointed in this misinformation campaign.

“Don’t trust. Verify” is a good message. But how do you expect a normie like me to “verify” the following from the most recent Core update: “They will become eligible for address gossip after sending an ADDR, ADDRV2, or GETADDR message”

Home Nodes do not make the network stronger because 99% of the people will automatically update the most recent Core update.

Node policy decisions don't make the network stronger, they are ultimately determined by economic pressure.
