My favorites are the ones who think all science is fake because theories change over time based on data. That’s literally how science works.

That's what prompted this note 😂 some of us are truly autistic

This can go both ways though. Big AG and big pharma “science” consistently discredit actual scientists

Yeah, that’s not actually science. Like when Exxon paid for “research” to absolve the petroleum industry for its role in global warming and now bitcoiners are among those who think there’s no evidence that the planet is in warming uncontrollably even though it’s obvious to anyone paying attention.

I think it’s a strawman to say “bitcoiners are among those who think there’s no evidence that the planet is warming uncontrollably”

I haven’t heard anyone say that climate is not changing and fossil fuels are at least partially responsible.

Where I see pushback is when we have the greenpeace or just stop oil morons claiming that there is an existential threat to the planet and we need to completely eliminate fossil fuels…

We need fossil fuels to have a thriving civilization. Can we work to find more sustainable alternatives and reduce the amount of fossil fuels we need to consume? Absolutely

I agree that Greenpeace are morons and I hold them responsible for helping torpedo nuclear power, which is what we should be using to generate as much electricity as possible.

Science, as a process for asking questions about the universe is powerful. All theories are inadequate and untrue (map rather than territory). Scientism is a tool of propaganda. It can also be a religion for midwits like me.

Yes, and science (as with many other tools) can be used for both good or bad purposes.
