Yes and no. Not for quality posts that have. A good chance of being replied to and liked. It doesn't take much to get it back!

Ultimately of course, someone pays out more than they get back but in principle, people are either receiving more than they're contributing in content or in sats.

Exactly this.

Of course people are paying Selene with their posts, which then puts money towards development to keep the whole thing running (no ads!).

But net contributor posters will also make money. And the cost is borne by the posters that add the least overall value.
