You can use bitcoin too. They just added the bill pay feature, you basically have a fully functional bank account now on top of the exchange

well i mean obviously the receiver isnt getting Bitcoin

so they're converting to USD to make the payment

or more likely its all entries on a spreadsheet somewhere and theyre not doing live conversions unless they need to personally

idk

interesting and certainly convenient.

but custodial and ultimately not censorship resistant

There's no conversion because it's usd in strike. The way I do it is. Just buy btc with the leftover. Not censorship resistant, yes, but I'll ask again.... How you gunna pay your mortgage with bitcoin?

ok I'm confused

you're sending USD to strike right?

and theyre paying your bills in USD right?

and you're buying Bitcoin will the remainder, correct?

which is fine and all

but like how are you paying your mortgage with Bitcoin?

I'm not, but how you gunna pay a mortgage with nonkyc bitcoin?

oh I see.

i basically do the same thing you do.

except I pay all my fiat bills through normal fiat channels.

and buy non-KYC Bitcoin or Monero with the remainder.

same result

except *yours is more convenient,

and nobody knows *I'm a hodler.

Definitely think I'll get there in the next year, hoping to at least.

it ain't easy

ive got 40 acres myself so I can appreciate the difficulties.

Whatchu raising? I've only been in this game about 3 years, but have made more progress than most folks 7 years in, because I'm lucky to have a job that I can work from home and have very little hours.

only people.

and the usual gardens of course.

I would love to have ducks and sheep but we have serious predator pressure and I dont have any help.

BTW I follow and enjoy talking to both you guys because you're doing the homesteading thing. I'm almost there, I could start now but got to think about the future beyond my own lifetime first. There are little people I hope to equip with the tools they need to conquer the world one day, a home that provides is only a part of that.

What kind of predator pressure? Are you in a state where youre restricted with regard to protecting your livestock?

We have big cats and bears.

Also I volunteer a lot of my time so I'm frequently not around.

Maybe when I have more adult help on the land.

I hope so.

Very glad alli deal with is coyotes and foxes and such, there some mountain lions but it's rare. Bears technically are in the state, but not near us, I wonder if electric works against bears
