It’s not more humane to kill someone because they’re doing something dangerous.
I would argue that a better approach would be to at most capture the boats peacefully and guide them back to where they came from, if not arrest anyone on the boats once they land. If anyone found having arrived from a migrant boat was arrested and/or deported, people wouldn’t keep using the boats because they would either end up in jail, or back where they came from.

The reality is the “humane” version of “let them come” is killing them.
Not letting them in but them thinking they can get here is killing them.
