Can we talk more about why nostr:nprofile1qqs9xtvrphl7p8qnua0gk9zusft33lqjkqqr7cwkr6g8wusu0lle8jcpp3mhxue69uhkyunz9e5k7qg6waehxw309a3kzcmgv5ejuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgtmkxyq32amnwvaz7tm9v3jkutnwdaehgu3wd3skueq4089x0 lures it's users to enter real name and address?! KYC on Nostr? Seriously?

How did we get here? Why aren't prominent #nostriches calling out those bad actors? Because they are buddies?

Primal uses Strike for their wallet services and they are required to KYC their users. I think they have been upfront about this.

That’s not really KYC. I feel good about signing up. KYC is the company asking for verifiable id documents that they actually verify. Asking for an email is not KYC. The email part is the only one that needs to be valid, and of course you don’t have to use your personal email.

It would be even worse if they did this by choice and not because they are forced by regulation. Either way it is "know your customer" and it a bad practice to run such a scheme. It can only hurt the user.

You are suggesting that users should wilfuly violate the terms of service just to avoid having their data stored with a corporation. At this point we are back to clown internet where you have to jump through hoops to avoid geting screwed over.

We both know that many normies will fill in the info without thinking, so to me it is ridiculous that someone would think it is okay just because they can lie on the form.

That is why I think they should be called out.

It’s not KYC.

So you’re also gonna tell me that you prefer to trust jack dorsey at damus like almost everyone on nostr?

You are missing the point.
