If the Austrian economists were such geniuses, why has no one heard of them?

Were they sitting around smoking cigars while the Keynesians won the war?

I don't have any hard facts but one can draw some pretty obvious conclusions from the observation that Keynesians are natural allies of Cantillon insiders and money printing governments with standing armies are the most powerful variety of Cantillon insiders.
