You can pray at home.. usually it's difficult to deal with 90% of all religious people (or any dogmatic or ideological people). My father always said it's very rare to find open minded religious people.

The only person I can talk freely about religion are my father and two Christan friends, and my wife.

Hindu people are usually also quite open, I enjoy talking to them.

Your religion is your relationship between you and God. Don't let other people destroy it
