If you want it to be at full potential, yes. Ubuntu normally is broken with Nvidia proprietary drivers.

Better go with Elementary OS, Manjaro, Pop-Os, or Arch.

I would start by Elementary OS, or Manjaro. As they are the easiest and prettiest UI.

With those you will have full rendering capabilities without hassle, with Ubuntu you can definitely expect lot of troubleshooting and frustration to get it going.
