I asked the director of Rockopera for a lesson and she made time after the academy finished. I improved a lot in a year, she was surprised and happy, but more than any technique it's just the ability to open up and sing strong from my own heart.

It's so freaking difficult to be authentic to yourself!

I worry someone could hear me making mistakes, that I stray off what I studied in musical schools and choirs (which is shit), that people will be annoyed by my strong voice and coloraturs (the curly things female singers do). I've been actually shamed for my style when I was young, completely supressed it because of that.

Would you believe this bullshit? Of course you do, we all do that in some area of our interest.

Don't rely on authorities. Listen to your heart. Don't take yourself down because somebody said so.

Unlearning bad habits is way more difficult than start late and knowing nothing about it.
