Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a prison guard, were martyred for their faith. Ermil openly confessed Christ, while Stratonic, secretly a Christian, was tormented by Ermil's suffering. When Stratonic's faith was revealed, both were brutally tortured. They were bound, cast into the Danube, and received their crowns of martyrdom.
