Related to this, has anyone bought bitcoin ETFs in an IRA or 401k? It feels weird, but I’m considering a small percentage going forward just for tax benefits for long-term holding.

Following. We’ve been wondering if we should allocate some of ours to Bitcoin as well. I worry that we don’t actually own it and I’ve heard the government can confiscate it.

My fiancée had a bunch of extra cash in her Fidelity account from a previous job. I had her buy GBTC when it was heavily discounted and it turned out to be a great buy. Now she works for the city and is required to put money into a retirement account. I think the ETFs make sense in situations like that where you really don’t have any choice but to use a traditional IRA or Roth IRA or 401k.
