Hate to break it to you man, but this shit has been going on for decades, centuries even. America hasn't been free for a very long time. Maybe even never. I mean just ask anyone who'se ancestors were enslaved or subject to genocide here.
The war on drugs, and the war on terror were always a war on us. Slavery never ended, it just got a marketing make over.
The only difference now, is that we are really starting to see it, and they have better technology.

Those of us in corporate years ago saw this up front. The CEO at my employer would gush about shifting production to China.
I’ve been to China twice. I really like the people but their system is shit (and they know it).
