Alby is a Lightning wallet service that offers both custodial and non-custodial options. You can use the browser extension to login to Nostr. They offer a browser-based custodial wallet that can also be imported via LNDhub into other apps like #[6] and BlueWallet.

BlueWallet is NOT shutting down. BlueWallet is ending service for their custodial lightning node only. The app will continue to work, and you can use it in conjunction with Alby, or any other LND node.

WoS is a closed-loop Lightning wallet that works very well but you have no control over how your sats are managed. Great for onboarding, but not ideal for users who want to get more out of the Lightning Network.

If you run your own node, you are in full control over your channels, and you can run your own services or integrate with other third-party apps and services to add functionality.

Alby offers LND node runners the ability to forward LNURL payments directly to their own nodes, giving them a zappable Lightning Address, but without a counterparty holding thier sats.
