The wallet you are using now should be okay to zap directly to a note(post), Congrats,you found your interest😂

The wallet wasn’t the problem, the stable release of Damus on the App Store doesn’t have a zap button on each note. The only way I could do it previously was to view a post in snort social hit the zap button and scan the invoice QR with WoS but I didn’t hand my private key over to snort just logged in with public key so although the sats where sent the zaps where never recorded.
