Dec 2017, Bitcoin at $20k, fees nearing 100 sat/B

-Segwit barely rolled out

-Exchange tx batching sparse

-No RBF

-Wallet fee estimators/controls severely lacking

-Lighting doesn't exist

Today with a higher price and a similar mempool, we are infinitely better equipped.

As a comparison, I can remember in 2017 sending a Bitcoin transaction from a popular wallet with zero fee controls during the bull run. Cost me over $100.
