This has happened to me religiously for years now. The only thing I’ve figured out that works is I sleep with headphones in and listen to an audiobook of Snow Crash at a low volume. It’s like being read a bed time story. Also try taking magnesium glycinate. At least 400mg. Will help your body relax and improve quality of sleep.
yeah lately I've been listening to audiobooks as well. Melatonin can work for me sometimes but it's pretty hit and miss.
So melatonin is supposed to be naturally produced when the sun goes down. So the best time to take melatonin is right at dusk and not before you lay down. When you take it at dusk it helps kickstart the body wind down period. Thats what I’ve read and have practiced at least.
