Nostr is truly different. Whether that be because the majority of the user base understands value or value, understands proof of work, or coincidentally the users happen to be some of the kindest people on the planet has yet to be determined.

I believe it's a perfect storm of all of these attributes. Additionally, a large part of our good intentions here stems from the lack of advertising, algorithms, and the abundance of freedom. We're just humans being humans without software or others manipulating us.

Take last night's impromptu "Invoiceathon". It couldn't have happened for as many people as it did without the generosity of nostr:npub1wl89d7yazg500lehg08p45dj2jzhhyqg2erj067458e3wd30djns4zn8lu. His large initial donation started the invoice bull run. He's a generous human.

While he says he does things not to get noticed, I did notice. I noticed the generosity and good natured gesture. He saw many of us having fun and he wanted the fun to continue.

He wasn't the only one though. Many donated tens of thousands of sats. Nostriches came out of the fields last night to be generous and have fun. They donated their hard earned sats. They donated the sats they received right back to me so the next Nostrich could have fun in their behalf. The generosity of everyone involved last night didn't stop there either. Some were even taking the sats that were donated to me, that I then donated to them, to make sure they found a good home by donating them once more to nostr:npub1y67n93njx27lzmg9ua37ce7csvq4awvl6ynfqffzfssvdn7mq9vqlhq62h.

It's was one of my most favorite nights on Nostr over the last 6 months.

Anyways, you just do not see these sorts of events unfold all too often elsewhere.
