It's stressful and sad to listen to people like him who think everything and everyone is motivated by power.

I'm obviously having a bit of fun with his theory in my comment. I'm not sure how far his theory extends. But it still is reasonable.

If anyone thinks in terms of power, then everyone has to think in terms of power or else suffer the consequences.

It is nice to be among a company of gentlemen where you don't have to think that way, but I think he is right that nation states have to think that way.

I recently read an idea by the psychologist Carl Jung where he says the opposite of love is not hate, but power. Power and love are opposite, not hate and love. I almost hit the floor when I read that.
