there are cyclical events that happen to our planet that are out of our control that mankind cannot remediate. wildfires can be minimised with better forestry maintenance. if there’s anything that makes us human it’s that we adapt.

Agree mostly but I think the severe weather we’re experiencing globally now was caused by and due to human interference.
If people 🌎🌏🌍 were more in HARMONY with nature and treated it RESPECTFULLY (like Native Americans in USA), doubtful global warming or climate change problem would’ve been created.
It exists now because of human behavior: deforestation, land development, etc.
It basically comes down to greed. Companies using toxic chemicals and not thinking about its consequences for nature and people. They definitely NEED to be regulated cuz otherwise, it’s all about maximizing profits.
I was told by some people that Canada’s policy is to let things be and handled as naturally as possible and that’s why the wildfires are still burning. Not sure since not my area of knowledge/expertise and didn’t do research nor verify, but Canada’s national policy is affecting air quality for other countries and people, so I think they need to re-examine that.
Same thing with fracking, oil drilling, etc.
If the company CEOs, Executives, those on Company Boards, Stockholders and their family were actually forced to live where they were causing harm to nature/land/area, I think they wouldn’t be so careless.
Pretty damn certain they wouldn’t want their child(ren) growing up there.
I think their babies should also drink the water of fracked areas!
True, humans adapt, but it’s also much easier for those with money. Economics.
It’s not in wealthy areas where the companies spew toxic chemicals or fracking happens.
I’m certainly not someone who would attend a 2 hour lecture about global warming and climate change, but they are BOTH HAPPENING! It’s REAL and it’s affecting everyone’s lives globally 🌎🌏🌍, in physical ways and people are dying, houses and buildings destroyed, lots of money being spent worldwide because of destruction caused by a problem (Climate Change & Global Warming) created by mankind.
It was caused by mankind, so we should try to do something about it because it’s only going to get worse and worse. And it needs to be a cooperative global policy deal because it’s few countries who are creating the most amount of pollution now. If they don’t participate, everyone is still screwed cuz it’s still toxic chemicals that are going up into atmosphere, which affect ocean currents, etc.
Over 40 degrees Celsius temperatures for days in Italy is NOT normal! You would know this better than me obvi.
I definitely recall it being hella hot in Taormina when I was there cuz went out and bought a fan for place I was staying at — no AC and windows didn’t have mosquitoes screens so it was either get attacked by lots of extra super nasty Italian mosquitoes who loved the taste of my blood/pheromones or bake in sweltering heat — but over 110 Fahrenheit degrees temperatures in Italy this summer is def NOT just due to cyclical events of planet earth!
