We've added support for Bitcoin donations to the non-profit GrapheneOS Foundation via a BIP47 payment code and PayNym due to high demand:

https://grapheneos.org/donate#bitcoin

We'll need to regularly sweep these to a fresh address from our hardware wallet since we can't yet use it directly.

Great step in the right direction, in light of the PayPal incident. I hope Graphene accepts Lightning soon, which I know was being looked into.

This is the way

Great!

Why to keep on using PayPal? Maybe the next time all funds will be seized permanently.

People who currently donate via PayPal are highly unlikely to start donating via an alternate seeing as we support many already. They would have done so if desirable to them. We need and gratefully receive the donations we get via fiat currency including those by PayPal which has only ever been a secondary option rather than a main one as demonstrated by the location in the list at grapheneos.org/donate

If we stopped accepting PayPal donations, we'd have less revenue to develop and build GrapheneOS. More and diverse revenue streams will always be a net benefit. We are already looking to do so for our fiat streams thanks to this. Yet again to emphasise this does not detract from our position on Bitcoin et al.

Thank you for replying. Didn't know the amount of fiat donations is pretty significant.
