It’s not odd at all. We hate Trump. He’s a monster. But in the wake of an assassination attempt, we’re trying to be polite enough not to say the obvious, which is, “It’s Republicans own god damned fault that the nation is flooded with guns, and sometimes they come after you, you blind, corrupt mother fuckers.”

It’s just manners, really.
