I understand, but "no one uses anything else other than Git" is a sheer example of narrow-mindedness. I think this platform deserves better curators.

I would rather it had no curators. I would rather I don't have to ask who I need to sleep with to get a PR through because there are no more PRs.

Mere humiliation ritual, IMO.

Why should anyone have to pass judgement on things that won't effect them?

The proof is in the implementation. We just wanted to have a public place to announce our idea, but notes are better for that.

Nobody can stop me from posting a note and the idea got much more action on here, in the normal flow of posts, than it did rotting in their repo.

Fuck their repo.

Isn't that sort of the point of nostr? Permissionless development. You don't need a NIP merged by some centralised set of maintainers.

Yeah. A git repo was never the right vehicle for a set of 50+ specifications which are usually only dependant on one or two others.

It seems natural to me to document Nostr with Nostr. People can use their WoT and notes that "like" or "star" other notes, to add weight to one version or another.

But we do need a place to publish and discuss ideas and I'm going to use a note-based Wiki for that.

We're already doing that, really, by publishing in our various repos and then writing a note announcing it, but we could just skip the repo bit.

He's added the whole "Zettel" aspect, which is 🤌, and I want to try loading some NIPs in, so that we can see how it all works and maybe make some adjustments.

I'm just going to move the NIPs all over to notes.

I'm going to move yours, too. Fight me. LOL

I'd love to see the evaluation of the validity of a NIP, or a version of a NIP, scored in terms for ACK and nACKs from my WoT, clients implemented, clients that actively break it, etc. That would be more useful than whether it gotbmerged or not.

Trust-rankings, yeah, and interoperability and implementation stats. You could even have an automated test attempt to write notes according to all existing models and see if they're properly displayed and post the results (accepts NIPs with eventIDs bunchofnumbers, otherbunchofnumbers, etc.)

And I like my idea of "like" notes, so that you can increase trust for objects (including other notes) and notify your followers of them.

Would be cool to have a list of those "like" notes, so that you could keep track of your favorite things.
