Hello nostr, my brother advised me to use nostr. I just know a little bit about it.
So maybe you can let me know, what makes nostr special to you? Why do you use it?

There are all kinds of refugees here.
The reasons I love nostr are many folds i can't list down all so I'll just list down the few that come to mind right now:
- I own my identity here, no app or server has access to my secret key hence does not control me
- Any data I make public in the network is my choice, I don't have to give away any information I don't want to.
- I can use the same identity across all of nostr apps.
- if I store private information on relays, I can verify that it is indeed encrypted and only I or people I authorize can access it.
- it has zaps.
There a lot of other reasons as well, hopefully you find some of the intriguing.

Many X Refugees here I think.
What makes nostr special for me is the total freedom of algorithms so that you really are the curator of your feed.
I use it because no bans
