💯🎯 I spend literally years trying to show everybody around me why Bitcoin will be the future, why it has to be the future. Guess what?

They heard what I said, some even listened, few understood and almost none took action.

At some point I stopped trying to help people that are not ready, just because it’s time and energy consuming and the outcome equals 0. Love to help people that are genuinely interested though. 🧡

Same, and some actually own (even self-custodying after me harassing them about it) #btc but still can't get their mind out of the short term vision. They keep being depressed as soon as price tanks etc...

Still, the work is on my side, trying to stay humble and not forcing it into their throats.

💯 funniest thing though is that everyone in my circle is buying houses atm. Like come on. They even ask me for advise and I spend hours explaining them why it’s a stupid idea, but in the end they are buying though. Even though they get it and pretend that they think I am right about what i say. How can you not think “fuck ‘em”!? 😂

Yeah the idea of shitcoin/estate being the only way to park your $$ is also deeply entrenched, weird since it's quite a hassle.

In the area I come from it’s mostly because buying a house is something you do when you are around 30. Its marriage first, then buying a house, after that you get children. It’s so “common sense” that people really feel uncomfortable if they don’t fit into this scheme.

So buying a house is mainly to “compete” with your peers, which makes it even more dumb because everybody wants to have the nicest house to flex with. They even flex with their mortgage rate. No money in their pockets but 1 Mil. mortgage. Isn’t that weird shit?

indeed!

It blows my mind. How can anybody be so dependent on the perception of others?

Damn yeah, real weird for me as well 😆

Imagine buying bitcoin with that much “money” 🤯

Hahahaha this picture is gold

This is the right approach imo. They'll come to you once they are ready. My friends and family know I'm deeply into Bitcoin, but I never talk about it unless they are opening up the topic.

This is the way. And as their pain increases, they will come and ask. Would love to onboard everybody early but you can’t make the horse drink 🤷🏻‍♂️

#[5] I have found that they need, at the very least, to have a fundamental understanding of the current fiat money system... if they don't and, furthermore, see there is a problem they will not be receptive to the perfect solution that is... bitcoin 🟠

I agree. The problem I faced often though is that if you tell them how the system works, it’s so far away from what they thought it would work like. Which leads to a pretty heavy cognitive dissonance. I literally had the case where I was explaining all this to a friend and she really followed and was super interested. But turned out, that after talking to her husband, she change her mind again.

I generally think it’s hard for people to accept something that is a big stretch from their point of view.

People often believe what they want to believe and what suits their desires…
