QR is a dangerous way to store seed info, IMO, for a few reasons. One is that people are lazy and forgetful, and they may actually print the QR code with a printer of some sort, which would leak the seed.

Another reason is that the cameras on modern smartphones (and who knows what other cameras) automatically scan QR codes constantly. It would be easy to accidentally scan the material and leak it.

This is my feeling as well. I just cannot find a good reason to go down this road.

I think QR could potentially be used for non-signing data, like XPUBs, key fingerprints, multisig setup etc., IF you have a non-networked printer for this purpose.

That would give you a hard copy of the “must have” data for wallet recovery even if you lost some signing material.

But for signing material itself, I think QR’s downsides exceed potential benefits.
