Lost our dog yesterday unexpectedly, after 12 good years. I'm gutted. My kid won't let go of his collar. Tell me this gets easier.

Im sorry man 😞 Someone once said, when you lose your dog, get another dog asap. It sounds bad but it helps everyone.
I discussed it with the wife, but we are expecting a second child in a couple months. A new baby and a puppy, seems tough.
They grow up fast, but you probably right. You know if it’s gonna be a boy or a girl?
Another girl. Without my boy I'm now outnumbered 4 girls(3 human, one dog) to one.
Congrats man!!! 🥃 And yes, you’re pretty screwed 😂
It takes a few months but it does. My dog has been gone 2 years now, still hurts a little
Sorry friend. I imagine you can eventually look back and smile. I hope atleast.
😔💜
I’m so sorry man. It’s losing family. Time will heal. We are all blessed to have our dogs.
They are truly man's best friend. Thanks for the kind words.
Was shocked to see this as the first thing I saw when I opened nostr for a couple minutes of distraction. My dog also passed yesterday rather suddenly. He had been feeling unwell for about a week, but Saturday went totally sideways and quickly. My wife and I are still in shock. Dogs really do become part of you. I know this will get better with time, but right now it feels like a huge part of our life is just gone. Hang in there bud.
Zapped you 10,000 for strength.
Thanks friend. Not necessarily but highly appreciated. Trying to be strong for my kid at the moment.
Losing pets is the worst. It gets easier but the pain never goes away completely
They are truly family. I just hope it gets easier. Thanks.
Sorry man. Eventually the painful memory will fade and only the good memories will remain. I feel your pain. My dogs are family.
Enjoy your time with them. They are truly man's best friend.
That’s tough. Lost both dogs in 2020. Still think about them often, sometimes with sadness, sometimes a laugh. The first few days are really hard.
