The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress by Heinlein is really great. Lunar colonists start a rebellion to win independence from their Earthly masters.

In this book the moon is a libertarian paradise peopled by blue collar workers in a hostile environment.

Contrasted with Roddenberry's socialist utopia in Star Trek.

Heinlen's Stranger in a Strange Land imagines a better world through the founding of a new religion that teaches sing song Martian mental powers. It's weird but very good. The best combo.
