Not a coldcard. Those aren’t friendly. Maybe a blockstream jade? Those seem more friendly.

She’s intimidated by my cold card, so ya definitely agree. I’ll look into the jade some more

Bitkey is pretty solid. Easy to use even my 77 year old father was able to figure it out and understand it.

How do you feel about recovery if the key is lost? Easier or harder than a seed phrase recovery? Or maybe just more fool proof

So it is set up as a multi sig (your phone, the Bitkey, and the backup) there is a process for downloading the backup Incase you think the company will go under. And there are processes for replacing the Bitkey and your phone if they are lost stolen or upgraded. I like that you can also set up inheritance in the app pretty easy. Feel pretty good about the recovery, but I’m not sure I would hold a whole stash, I think of it as medium storage (not hot and not cold)

Foundation Passport is a good middle ground between a solid and secure option that is also user friendly and approachable. It is a bit like a phone from the pre-smart phone era.

Ohh, I hadn’t looked into this one. Thanks!
