I have always approached #Bitcoin from a more conceptual and philosophical angle.
I also like to think I don’t follow the crowd.
For me, studying the 2017 Blocksize Wars History in hindsight is invaluable.
We can all learn from it.
People clamoring for Drivechains today definitely remind me of the Big Blockers like Ver and the members of the New York Agreement… they made enough of a fuss to push the #Bitcoin community into making a move they didn’t have to make with SegWit
The Ordinals fiasco earlier in 2023, should have been a wake-up call for everyone that we need to be extra careful moving forward for all other changes to #Bitcoin .
SegWit & Taproot give people plenty of new bells and whistles to play with already. Liquid as well.
Now only a few months after Ordinals, people are pushing for Drivechains as if we absolutely need DC for #Bitcoin to survive?
Sorry, I can’t keep giving the benefit of the doubt.
I want to give the benefit to what I know for now and let us keep learning and testing.
Let me be clear.
Even SegWit wasn’t a necessary change to #Bitcoin!!
I wish more people made that argument in the past.
But what’s done is done.
#Bitcoin has never been perfect, but we have to keep learning.
Let’s not rush unnecessary changes on to #Bitcoin.
