The disappointment never truly goes away though. It'll vanish to the far corners until an unexpected reminder brings it back to the forefront for a split second. It's actually pretty good because then you simply account for it in your dealings with the cattle.

I get most disappointed when I talk to other schizos and they're barely sentient. I wanted them to be my people; I wanted to help them like I helped myself. Out of the many schizos I've met Dicey is by far the most human.
Don't expect from people what you can only get from God.
