Ad hominem is one logical fallacy they use but in this case it’s probably more accurate to call this a “strawman” logical fallacy.

By misrepresenting Musk as Hitler, then attacking Hitler, they seek to dupe their useful idiot voter base to believe that they have, in fact, directed their attack at Musk.

This is like building a scarecrow strawman that looks like Musk, beating the shit out of it, and then acting like they beat the real Elon in a fight.

Government schools do not teach logical fallacies. If they did, government politicians wouldn’t be nearly as effective when it comes to leading the masses of sheeple around.
