I reckon that Musk will go down as one of the truly tragic figures of the 21st century.

SpaceX is an undeniably crucial advancement for humanity, and he deserves significant credit for his visionary leadership of that company circa ~2006-2012.

Everything since then... has been diminishing returns, IMHO.
