You can log in with your nostr identity (nip-05 or nsec) and your uploads follow you. In amythest I can upload videos natively and it auto saves to my nostr.build account. I have a paid account, not sure if that's available free or not.
I appreciate your response. I'm going to look into that. I'm currently using Primal but need to free up some storage on my device and download amythest. To be continued... 🫡

Posting videos works the same on primal too. You can go to nostr.build , upload your vid, copy the link and paste it in primal and your vid will be embedded.
If there a particular client you recommended using to back up the follower list and does it do both following and followers? I assume the followers still connect since they're connected to the key.
I'm not sure the technical reason why but sometimes ppl lose all their follows when they switch clients. It only happens for follows. Your followers are aggregated by the relays and admittedly aren't accurate because you could have followers connected to relays you're not on so those won't show. Followers count matter much less here though since no algos.
Try using nostrsync.live for backup

Yeah it's all new and very different than the centralized services we r used to!
So the way I understand it is you've got a list of people you follow attached to your nsec. To see your follower count, your client will poll each relay you're connected to. That relay will then poll each user's follow list. If someone has you on their list, they'll count them.
So if there's any users that follow you but aren't on any of the same relays as you, they won't get counted since your client won't know to poll their relay and retrieve the count.
That's how I understand it as well. You can also add relays in the settings. Not sure if there's a cap but I'm going to push the limits. 🤓
Hahaha RIP your battery. I think nostr:npub1jk9h2jsa8hjmtm9qlcca942473gnyhuynz5rmgve0dlu6hpeazxqc3lqz7 currently holds the record for most relays. Pretty sure he was in the hundreds at one point 💀
