Replying to Darin

I’m having trouble reconciling the notion that nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m Dorsey, cofounder and former CEO of Twitter - an extremely censored platform, hangs out and supports nostr.

The philosophical cornerstones of the two platforms are polar opposites.

What am I missing?

People learn from their mistakes... I think he wanted a free speech platform with Twitter. The censorship came from accepting money from various sources which then threatened to cut off the money, also regulatory pressure and internal bureaucracy

Being public and having an advertising model will not allow for a truly free service. No way around it. Nor should one person be in charge of all content decisions.

Elon made a show of saying if Twitter fails because marketers pull out then it will be their fault. But wouldn't it really be his fault for relying on them to start with? Obviously he's not going to let it fail without a fight, hence the premium subscription model, but is he going at it the wrong way?

What do you mean by that?

Was it just a facade that you were CEO and they bossed you around and you couldn't do anything? 🤔🤔🤔
