Information wants to be free. No authority seems able to control it for very long. The ideas spread with or without the printing press(faster with) by mouth or by secret hand written notes which may or may not use slang and coded words or by some other “encryption”. The state tends toward accommodating new technology after initially resisting it once they can figure out how to tax or regulate it. The battle between ideas and the control of ideas by an authority is everlasting. ✌️
