Starting a new strength program today. Bare bones minimum:

Squat

Deadlift

Bench

All 5x5

Any tips?

I've done a similar workout in the past and needed to add in additional ab work as well. Without it there was a bit of a muscle imbalance that grew, stunting further muscle growth.

According to what I’m reading, if you squat heavy enough then it should get the abs too. Were you doing super heavy?

I read that as well. Maybe I wasn't doing a heavy enough amount though. Just something I experienced.
