Hobby gardener here. I love a ripe tomato, but is anybody else so impatient they just eat delicious fried green tomatoes??

How is it i didnt even know that was possible

In the SE USA it’s a tradition. I used to work at a restaurant that was known for them.

I don’t know! I mean it’s almost always too much work but I recommend when you have some time.

Grew up an hour south of the mason dixon and had these every year from my mothers little suburban garden...miss those days. I wasnt very involved in the gardening but occassionally she would have me water the garden in the evening. Never forgot that smell.

Fried green tomatoes are appetizers on menus around here occassionally. Usually with a fancy aioli type sauce for dipping. As a kid I think we just ate them with salt and pepper.

If you pick the green ones when working for farmers way back when in those “normal” carnivore days youd be in a world of pain. Or some even out of a job at the end of the day.
