You need money to live.

You have to spend time to earn money.

If you invest, you make your money work for you.

Therefore you will have less work to do.

So all in all, when you invest, you gain back your time, but when you spend you sell your time.

If you want to buy something next time, you can think about if the thing you want to buy worth more then your future time.
