Do you think amethyst team can speak with damus team and see what is different with there coding so they get to see LIVE data, I think this is a huge goal..

They allow much heavier downloads. We don't. Many profile pictures are 20mb each. They download first and resize on the phone. We resize them on them web, before downloading, saving GBs of your data plan.

Can we have it a toggle option for users that prefer quality over data usage and vice versa? I am a huge fan of live data, as are most people..

The app is just not ready for it yet. If you disable it, it's virtually unusable even on new phones.

That is understandable, things take time, as long as Live data is a future goal, that is the main thing.

But really, you should consider reducing the size of your image. 4MB is still very high compared to the visual space available in most apps, that will take 100kb or less. It will be compressed anyway. Quality will be gone anyway. So, why spend people's data plan? :)

It was made for me as a gift, didn't even notice the size. But you are right, I will make sure to pay more attention in the future #[9]

Also, something is off. Neither our image resizer, not Snort.social can see your image on nostr.build.

They might be blocking other sites. :( I will do some research.

Thanks for looking into it closer. It seems everyone can see it who is a Damus user. I uploaded to https://nostr.build/

#[12] , so I don't think it is an issue with the hosting service being blocked. Uploaded a non-gif image and it updated on my profile asap.

I don't know how to resize a gif image on my phone, and I imagine most folks don't. We want to make sure people who use the platform don't have to learn how to be technical support reps.
