There's possibly some useful functions that end up getting shut down, but considering what a corrupt, nepotistic and self-serving boondoggle the US federal state apparatus as a whole has become, America is best served with it getting axed brutally, and the useful parts getting rebuilt from scratch.
Discussion
I agree - along with the approach of cut deep...then add back/rebuild from scratch. Yes, projects (and possibly aid) will be delayed. But we are then starting with a clean slate (or as clean as you could ever get in government) that benefits everyone.
I agree.
Boondoggle. Good word.
An argument could even be made that some useful functions getting axed would open the door for more self-sovereignty and self-governance by those whose aid has been cut. Being made aware of oneβs reliance on government could very well be the impetus they need to become self-reliant.
Indeed. Several possibilities are in play right now.
