Nostr Web Client

I would love to know how these relays are actually working. I am not a tech guy and I’m “running” these relays, such as filter.nostr.wine, meaning, I added them to my list. Yet I wouldn’t know the difference in running or not running them. Supposedly I can “see” what is being “filtered” or “reading” or “writing.” I wish there was a simple man’s explanation as I am interested in learning. All I see on my end is that they are on my relay list.🙏🏼💜

Hey, great question! The relays you subscribe to are the relays you read and write to. If you have added a paid relay to your feed, but not paid for the relay you will likely have read permissions on that relay (you can see posts from others) but not write (you won’t be able to publish posts to that relay).

The key is to get some really good relays. IMO nostr.wine and filter.nostr.wine are a great place to start and offer great connectivity to nostr with minimal effort.
